Abstract

Objective:To investigate the clinicopatholgic feature of gastrointestinal stromal tumors(GISTs) in intestine. Methods: In addition to light microscopic observations, immunohistochemical assays of CD34,CD117,SMA,S100 and CKp were used. Results: In 31 cases, five cases were at very low risk-low risk(VLR-LR),2 cases immediat risk(IR) and 24 cases high risk(HR) of GISTs in intestines. The GISTS of intestines showed spindle cell type in most specimens.CD117 and CD34 were positive in most cases. Conclusion: The symptoms of GISTS in intestines were similar as intestine carcinoma.Pathologic features were different in the level of GISTS risk of intestine. The results showed that undifferentiation type constitutes the largest category in GISTs of intestine.
