Adverse Drug Reaction:Analysis of 214 Cases

Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the adverse drug reaction(ADR) and explore its hazard and prevention so as to promote rational drug use.METHODS: A total of 214 ADR cases collected in our hospital from Jan.2008 to Dec.2011 were statistically analyzed and evaluated using the evaluation criteria for ADR causality.RESULTS: A total of 127 drugs were involved in the 214 ADR cases,with anti-infective drugs topping the list(43 anti-infective drugs) in terms of number ADR cases,followed by traditional Chinese medicinal injections(19 traditional Chinese medicinal injections).The ADR appeared mainly as lesions of skin and its appendants(108 cases).5 ADR cases were new and serious ADR cases.CONCLUSION: The total number of ADR cases was on the low side.The ADR was associated with many factors.It is important to enhance consciousness on rational drug use,strengthen publicizing of the importance of ADR reporting and enhance cognition on the hazard of ADR so as to reduce and avoid the occurrence of serious ADR and ensure safe and effective medication.
