Abstract
[Objective] The effect of PEG-6000 simulated drought stress on the growth of callus, physiological indicators and the content of licorice flavonoids in callus were studied.[Method] With different mass fraction (0,15%,20%,25%,30%) of PEG-6000 simulated drought stress on Glycyrrhiza inflata callus, the growth amount,MDA,POD and flavonoid content of the callus were measured.[Result] With the stress level increased, the amount of callus growth showed a downward trend,MDA on the rise,POD generally showed up first, then downward trend. The licorice flavonoids content of cotyledon callus increased to 4.8 mg/g under the 25% PEG-6000 treatment,it was about 1.379 times of the control.Licorice flavonoid content of hypocotyl calli decreased under the PEG simulated drought stress.[Conclusion] The certain drought stress could increase the licorice flavonoids content in cotyledon callus of Glycyrrhiza inflata.
