Abstract

Objective To compare the effectiveness between milrinone and digitalis in the patients with congestive heart failure. Methods 106 patients with congestive heart failure were randomly divided into three groups. Group A was given 10 mg of milrinone in 250 ml of 0.9% NaCl (sodium chloride solution)by intravenous drip for 10 days. Group B was given digoxin 0.125~0.25 mg by mouth once a day,for 10 days. Group C was given diuretics and placebos for 10 days. Results The effective rate was 89.47% in group A and 81.58% in group B, and there was no difference between the two groups (P0.05). Conclusion Therapeutic results of milrinone and digitalis were obvious effective medicines in treatment of congestive heart failure.
