Investigate the effect of milrinone and digitalis to treat congestive heart failure

Abstract

Objective: We are aimed to investigate the effect of milrinone and digitalis to treat congestive heart failure.Methods: 80 cases with congestive heart failure were randomized to milrinone group(30 cases)、digitalis group(30 cases) and control group(20 cases);10 mg milrinong in 250 ml saline was infused to vein with 0.375-0.75 μg/kg/min daily;digoxin 0.125-0.25 mg and diuretic daily were orally used in digitalis group,placebo was used in control group.All the treaement periods were 7 days.Results: The efficiency of improved heart function was 90% in milrinong group、86.7% in digitalis group and 35% in control grop;the efficiency was significantly better in milrinong and digitalis group than control gorup.Moreover,echocardiographic heart function variables had been significantly improved in treatment groups.Conclusion: Both milrinone and digitalis have significant effect on congestive heart failure.
