Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the distribution and drug resistance of extended spectrum β-lactamases(ESBLs) producing Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae so as to provide scientific basis for rational use of antibiotics.METHODS The automatic microbe analytic instrument was used to identify non-repetitive E.coli and K.pneumoniae isolated from Jan 2009 to Dec 2010,the drug susceptibility testing was performed.ESBLs-producing isolates were detected by ceftazidime,ceftazidime/clavulanic acid and cefotaxime,cefotaxime/clavulanic acid disc diffusion test;statistical analysis of the drug resistance rates of ESBLs-producing and non-ESBL-producing E.coli and K.pneumoniae was performed with SPSS16.0.RESULTS The detection rates of ESBLs-producing E.coli were 41.5%(n=94) and 35.5%(n=110) respectively in 2009 and 2010;the detection rates of ESBLs-producing K.pneumoniae were 14.6%(n=82) and 17.8%(n=101) respectively in 2009 and 2010;the drug resistance rates of ESBLs-producing isolates were higher than 50.0%,as compared with the drug resistance rate of non-ESBLs-producing isolates, the difference was statistically significant(P0.05);in addition,2 strains of carbapenem-resistant E.coli and 2 strains of carbapenem-resistant K.pneumoniae were detected in 2010.CONCLUSION The detection rates of ESBLs-producing E.coli and K.pneumoniae change smoothly from 2009 to 2010,ESBLs-producing isolates are remarkably multidrug-resistant,the detection rate of carbapenems-resistant strains remains low,but it does occur,it is necessary to strengthen the bacteriology examination and antibiotic use on the basis of drug susceptibility testing so as to control the spread and prevalence of ESBLs-producing strains.
