Abstract
Objective:To investigate the expression of COX-2 and E-cad in gastric carcinoma and explore their relationship and clinical significance. Methods:The expression of COX-2 and E-cad was detected by immunohistochemistry in 62 gastric cancer specimens collected after operations and 20 cases of normal gastric mucosa as control. Results:The expression rates of E-cad in gastric cancer tissues was 28.3%,high expression in normal gastric mucosa tissue(P0.01),but the expression rates of COX-2 in gastric cancer tissues was 68.3%.lower positive expression in normal gastric mucosa tissue(P0.01).There was a significant negative correlation between COX-2 and E-cad expressionin gastric cancer,as the expression of E-cad lower, the expression of COX-2 increased. Conclusions:The overexpression of COX-2 and E-cad in gastric carcinoma enhances the possibility of invasion and metastasis and could be one of the signs of the poor prognosis.
