Expression of COX-2 in human gastric carcinoma tissues and the clinical significances

Objective To investigate the expression of COX-2 in gas-tric carcinoma tissues,and study its correlation with clinic pathologic characteristics.Methods COX-2 expression were examined by immunohist-ochemical S-P in 85 specimens of gastric carcinoma tissues and 20 specimens of normal gastric tissues.Results The positive rate of COX-2 expression in gastric carcinoma was77.6%,and there was no expression in normal gastric tissues.The expression of COX-2 has significant difference be-tween gastric carcinoma and normal gastric tissues(P0.05).The expression of COX-2 was positively correlated with clinical stage(P0.05),and lymph node matastasis(P0.05).but was negatively gastric with histological types、size of tumor、and sex and age of patient.Conclusion In gastric carcinoma,the expression rate COX-2 was high,COX-2 expression was positively correlated with clinical stage,and lymph node metastasis;COX-2 play an important role in the carcinogenesis and metastasis of gastric carcinoma,It is that COX-2 in gastric cancer tissues will be of significance.
