Abstract
Objective To observe the therapeutic and side effects of hight intensity focused ultrasound(HIFU)in treating patients with advanced pancretic carcinoma.Methods Thirteen patients with advanced pancreatic carcinoma received 91(average 7)times of HIFU therapy,4 cases of them combimed low dose 5 FU chemotherapy.Results 2 cases acquired CR and 4 PR,The response rate was 46 2%.The clinical benefit response(CBR)was 92 3% and the median survival was 7 0 months.There were few toxicities except one case having obstruct jaundice after 5 months later of HIFU therapy.Conclusions The preliminary results show that HIFU has a high efficacy and quite safety for advanced pancreatic carcinoma,it is worthy of futher clinical trail.
