Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect and safety of high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) for treatment of pancreatic carcinoma. Methods Sixteen cases of pancreatic carcinoma were treated by FEP-BY01 pyrotherapier(HIFU). Results After treatment of HIFU, cancer pain was relieved in 83% of patients, 9 cases of pancreatic carcinoma ultrasound echo of carcinoma tissue was enhanced, the lesions became smaller in 18%. There were no severe complications happened during the treatment for all patients. Conclusion HIFU is effective and safety as a new local treatment for patients with pancreatic carcinoma.
