Abstract
Objective To explore a safe and effective treatment for asthma in children.Methods 482 children with asthma admitted in our hospital from Jan.2008 to Dec.2010 were treated by magnesium sulfate based on conventional treatment.The treatment was performed until the disappearance of clinical symptoms or the remission of the symptoms for 2 to 3 days.Results Twelve to Forty-eight hours after treatment with magnesium sulfate,176 cases(36.5%) achieved clinical control,281 cases(58.3%) were markedly effective,and 25 cases(5.2%) were improved.The total effective rate was 100%.Of the 482 cases,14 cases(2.9%) showed mild reactions,which disappeared without special treatment.Conclusion Treatment with magnesium sulfate is safe and effective for asthma in Children,which should be popularized clinically.
