Intergrated Traditional Cbioese and Western Medicine Treatment of Ulcerative Colitis

Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical effect of Integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine. Methods 51 patients were confirmed to have Ulcerative Colitis (UC) by endoscopy. Control group of 21 patients were treated with retention enema of Sulfasalszine.The treatment group were treated with Chinese herbal medicine and retention enema of Sulfasalszine.Results The short effective rate was 66.7% in the treatment group, and 38.1 % in the Control group (x2 = 4.07, P0.05), There were significant difference between the two groups. The total effective rate was 93.3% in the treatment group and 71.4% in the Control group (x2 = 4.48, P 0.05), There were significant difference between the two groups.The new occurrence rate was 5% in the treatment group after six months, and 25% in the Control group (P0.05) .There were significant difference between the two groups. Conclusion The Integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine treatment has good effect in treating UC, and less side - effect.
