Clinical Observation of Traditional Chinese Medicine Retention Enema for Ulcerative Colitis

OBJECTIVE:To observe the clinical curative effect of 80 cases of ulcerative colitis treated by the traditional Chinese medicine retention enema.METHODS:80 patients were randomly divided into two groups.40 patients of control group were given oral dose of salazosulfapyridine.Another 40 patients in treatment group were given oral dose of SASP and traditional Chinese medicine retention enema.One treatment course lasted for one month,two groups both received two treatment course.RESULTS:The total effective rate of treatment group was 95.00% and that of control group was 77.50%.There were significant difference between two groups(P0.05).There were significant difference in clinical symptom relief and colonoscopy results between two groups(P0.05).CONCLUSION:It has a remarkable curative effect to treat ulcerative colitis using the traditional Chinese medicine retention enema.
