Abstract
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy on combining therapy of Chinese medicine and Western medicine in the treatment of ulcerative colitis.Methods:100 patients with ulcerative colitis were randomly divided into observation group(50 cases) and control group(50 cases).Control group was given Western medicine treatment [0.5%Metronidazole(100 ml)+Sulfasalazine(2.5 g)] with retention enema;observation group was given combining therapy of Chinese medicine and Western medicine [the Gegen Qinliang Decoction(100 ml)+Sulfasalazine(2.5 g)] with retention enema. The clinical efficacy, stool routinewas and gastroscopy of two groups were compared. Results:After treatment, the clinical efficacy in observation group(94.0%) was significantly higher than that(62.0%) in control group, and the result was statistically significant(χ2=14.918,P0.001).At the follow-up visit for one year of 93 patients, the recurrence rate in observation group(10.6%) was significantly lower than that(47.8%) in control group, and the result was statistically significant(χ2=15.604,P0.001).And no one had adverse reactions in observation group during the administration. Conclusion:The combining therapy of Chinese medicine and Western medicine in the treatment of ulcerative colitis is safe, more effective, which has fewer adverse reactions and recurrence rate and worthy of clinical application.
