Breeding and Utilization of Indica CMS Line Zhongzhong 1A with High Protein Content in Rice

Zhongzhong 1A,derived from the backcross and testcross of V20A/(Xinxiang B/9801) F2,is a new indica CMS line in rice.Zhongzhong 1A is characteristic of complete and stable male sterility,fine grain quality with a high protein content,desirable agronomic and economical characters and high combining ability.In February,2006,it was certified by Hunan Provincial Crop Variety Appraisal Committee.Zhongzhongyou 448(Zhongzhong 1A/Chenghui 448)) is a new hybrid rice combination with both high yield and fine grain quality,and it was certified by Hunan Provincial Crop Variety Appraisal Committee in February,2008.
