Abstract

Mianxiang 3A,developed from the testcross and successive backcrosses between Xinxiang A and(Dali B/Xianggai B) F2 by the Mianyang Agricultural Research Institute,is a new aromatic WA-type indica CMS line with high protein content(15.5%).It shows stable complete male sterility,good agronomic characters and good combining ability.In August,2003,it was technically identified in Sichuan Province.Its F1 hybrid combinations showed high yield and good grain quality.Among them,Mianxiang 3 You 725(Mianxiang 3A/Mianhui 725) was registered by the Shaanxi Provincial Crop Variety Appraisal Committee in March,2005.
