Effects of bushen yigu recipe on bone mineral density and blood level of interleukin-6,tumor necrosis factor-α in ovariectomized rats

Objective To explore the effect of Bushen Yigu recipe on bone mineral density and blood level of interleukin-6,tumor necrosis factor-α in ovariectomized rats.Method The model of osteoporosis was established by ovariectomy in female rats,and then they were divided into four groups:the test group of Bushen Yigu Decoction,the conjugated estrogens group,the model control group and the blank control group.Bone mineral density(BMD) was measured by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry.And we examine the change of bone histomorphology by bone biopsy and detect the serum level of tartrate acid phosphatase 5b(TRACP5b),interleukin-6(IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) by ELISA and Radioimmunoassay.Result the BMD was higher in the Bushen Yigu Decoction group.And the Bushen Yigu Decoction can lower the level of TRACP5b,IL-6 and TNF-α.The histomorphology shows better in the lumbar vertebrae.Conclusion From the molecular and cell level,the study discovers the mechanism.The Bushen Yigu Decoction is effective on decreasing the level of TRACP5b,IL-6 and TNF-α in ovariectomized rats.It can also improve the BMD and ameliorate the hisomorphology.
