Abstract
Objective By screening 1 392 884 samples of blood donation in Guangzhou from 2008 to 2012 for infectious diseases, and appraising the main reason of blood disqualification,a scientific basis will be provided to establish blood screening measures, reduce blood resource wasting and guarantee the blood safety. Methods The samples were tested by ELISA,test items including ALT,HbsAg,anti-HCV,anti-HIV and anti-TP,and the result was analysed. Results The blood donors' total positive rate was 4.35%; the unqualified rate of each item was: ALT(2.23%)HBsAg(0.9%)anti-HCV(0.54%)anti-TP(0.52%)anti-HIV(0.16%).The the positive rate had statistically significant difference between the years(P0.05).Conclusions In Guangzhou, the positive rate of ALT is the highest, and the total positive rate has declined in the recent two years. The publicity of blood donation should be further strengthened, the blood screening level raised, and blood donors recruited from low-risk population,so as to effectively reduce blood wasting rate and guarantee blood safety.
