Abstract
Objective To study the current situation of unqualified blood via screening tests for blood donations; and to take effective measures to collect more secured blood from voluntary blood donors in order to reduce the rate of blood waste. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed to investigate the blood screening results of ALT,HBsAg,anti-HCV,anti-HIV and anti-TP that collected from blood donations from 2005 to 2013. Results The total fraction defective that counted from 2005 to 2013 was 3. 921%,with significant differences: χ2= 266. 21,P 0. 01. The fraction defective of five blood screening test results ranked from high to low were as follow: ALT( 2. 336%) anti-TP( 0. 752%) HBsAg( 0. 745%) anti-HCV( 0. 195%) anti-HIV( 0. 070%). Conclusion It is an important way to improve blood safety by strengthening the pre-donation consultation, deferral strategy, screening blood pre and after blood donation. Recruitment of low-risk or fixed blood donors is the base of the adequate blood resources to improve blood safety.
