Abstract

Objective To observe the effects of Xiaodan granules on renal function of rats with chronic renal failure(CRF)induced by adenine. Methods Except for the normal control(n=10),the rats with CRF induced by adenine were randomly divivded into five groups:model,low,middle,high-dosage(0.989,1.977,3.956 g / kg·d) of Xiaodan granules and positive control group with Niaoduqing granules(2.088 g / kg·d),n =12,for each group.Corresponding drugs were given to these five groups for 30 days,The serum creatinine(SCr),blood urea nitrogen(BUN),uric acid(UA),and electrolyte K+,Na+,Ca2 +,P3 +,as well as proteinuria(PRO),neutrophils(LEU),urine specific gravity(SG),and renal pathology were observed and compared each other to find out differences among them. Results Compared with the model group,SCr,BUN,UA and P3 +of other 5 groups were significantly decreased,and the index of PRO,LEU,SG tended to be normal. Conclusion Xiaodan granules have definitely therapeutic effect on chronic renal failure of rats caused by adenine.
