Abstract

Objectives To investigate the clinical effect of carvedilol on patients with congestive heart failure(CHF). Methods Fifty-eight patients with CHF were randomly divided into carvedilol treated group and routine treatment group. The former was given carvedilol besides routine treatment, the latter was given placebo and routine treatment. Therapeutic effect was observed after a period of three months' treatment. Results After three months' treatment, there were significant differences in the improvement of heart rate, cardiac function, left ventricle ejection fraction between the two groups (P0.05). Conclusion Carvedilol is effetive on congestive heart failure.
