Abstract
Objectives To investigate the clinical effect of carvedilol on pationts with chronic congestive heart failure(CCHF). Methods Fourty-nine pationts with CCHF were randomly into A group(carvedilol treatment) and B group(routine treatment group). The A group was given carvedilol besides routine treatment, the B group was given placebo and rourine treatment. Therapeutic effect was observed after a period of three months' treatment. Results After three months' treatment, there were significant differences in the improvement of heart rate, cardiac funtion, left ventricle ejection between the two groups(p0.05). Conclusion carvedilol is effetive on chronic congestive heart failure.
