Abstract

Objective To compare the effects and adverse reactions of olanzapine and clozapine in the treatment of mania.Methods 68 cases which diagnosed as manic by CCMD-3 were randomly divided into two groups:study group and control group,each having 34 cases.Study group were given olanzapine combined with valproate for 6 weeks,and control group were received clozapine combined with valproate for the same time.The effects were assessed with the BRMS and adverse reactions with the TESS before treatment and at the ends of the 2nd,4th and 6th week treatment.Results There was no significant difference between the study group and the control group in the effect,but adverse reactions of study group were lower than that of control group,with a significant difference between the two groups.Conclusion Olanzapine has a notable effect,with higher safety in the treatment of mania.
