Abstract

The crystal structure of the title Schiff base derived from picolinadehyde N-oxide and α-aminophenylethanone was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction method and characterized by UV and IR spectra. The main crystallographic datas are as follows: C14H12N2O2,Mr= 241.26,monoclinic,space group P21/n,a=0.814 96(11)nm,b=1.556 20(2)nm,c=0.954 60(14)nm,β=105.607(3)°,V=1.166 00(3)nm3,Z=4,Dc= 1.374 g/cm3,μ=0.094 mm-1,F(000)= 508,R1=0.073 4,wR2=0.225 6.The X-ray analysis reveals that the crystal structure of the Schiff base is 3-D structure through d…π and π…π stacking interactions.
