Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical effectiveness and adverse reactions of levamlodipine and amlodipine in treatment of patients with mild to moderate hypertension.Methods 108 outpatients with mild to moderate hypertension were divided into three groups randomly:amlodipine, 5 mg/d(group A),levamlodipine,2.5 mg/d(group B) and levamlodipine,5 mg/d(group C).The patients were treated for 8 weeks,antihypertensive effect and adverse reactions were observed. Results Systolic and diastolic blood pressure values were decreased significantly in 3 groups after treatment compared with before treatment(P0.05).Changes in blood pressure values were greater(P0.01) and rate of attaining target blood pressure was higher(P0.05) in group C compared with groups A and B.Hemoglobin and red blood cell count increased after treatment in 3 groups(P0.05).Serum potassium decreased in group B(P0.05).Conclusion In the treatment of senile hypertension,levamlodipine is more effective and has fewer adverse reactions than amlodipine.After levamlodipine 2.5 mg treatment,serum potassium is decreased.
