Abstract

The urban road planning must be based on a vast amount of space information, and the geographic information system (GIS) is the best way to display the space data. Hereby introduced is the overall frame, key techniques and major functions of the GIS-based information management system for road planning in Shanghai, with specific notes to the information service thereof.
