Therapeutic effect of traditional Chinese medicine combined with cisapride on diabetic gastroparesis

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of strengthening spleen and circulating qi decoction combined with cisapride on diabetic gastroparesis. Methods 66 patients with diabetic gastroparesis were randomly divided into two groups, 34 patients in treatment group and 32 patients in control group. The patients in both groups were treated by hypoglycemic agents combined with cisapride 10mg,three times a day, in addition to that, the patients in treatment group were treated by strengthening spleen and circulating qi decoction, one dose a day, decocted in water for oral dose,taken in the morning and in the evening respectively, with a treatment course of 4 weeks for both groups. The therapeutic effects were evaluated after one treatment course. Results The total effective rate (91.2%) in treatment group was significantly higher than that (75.00%) in control group, there was a significant difference between two groups (P0.05). Conclusion The strengthening spleen and circulating qi decoction combined with cisapride has remarkable effect on diabetic gastroparesis, without obvious side-effect.
