Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical effects of azithromycin on children with mycoplasma pneumonia.Methods 62 cases of mycoplasma pneumonia were randomly divided into two groups:30 cases in treatment group treated with intravenous azithromycin 5~10 mg/(kg·d),and 32 cases in the control group with intravenous erythromycin 15~20 mg/(kg·d).Results 22 cases had completely recovered, 6 had excellent responsiveness,2 significant improvement in the treatment group and the rate of efficacy was 93.3% (28/30). In the control, 16 cases completely cured, 13 excellent responsiveness, 3 significant improvement and the rate of efficacy was 90.6%(29/32) .There was no significant difference between the two groups(P0.05); Side effects happened in 2 cases (6.7%) in the treatment group, and 24 case(75%) in the control group. There was a significant difference between the two groups (P0.05);Conclusion Azithromycin is shown to be of choice to manage children with mycoplasma pneumonia with good therapeutic profiles.
