CLINICAL OBSERVATION OF EFFECTS OF AZITHROMYCIN ON CHILDREN WITH MYCOPLASMA PNEUMONIA

Objective To observe the clinical effects of azithromycin on children with mycoplasma pneumonia.Methods 62 cases of mycoplasma pneumonia were randomly divided into two groups:30 cases in treatment group treated with intravenous azithromycin 5～10 mg/(kg·d),and 32 cases in the control group with intravenous erythromycin 15～20 mg/(kg·d).Results 22 cases had completely recovered, 6 had excellent responsiveness,2 significant improvement in the treatment group and the rate of efficacy was 93.3% (28/30). In the control, 16 cases completely cured, 13 excellent responsiveness, 3 significant improvement and the rate of efficacy was 90.6%(29/32) .There was no significant difference between the two groups(P0.05); Side effects happened in 2 cases (6.7%) in the treatment group, and 24 case(75%) in the control group. There was a significant difference between the two groups (P0.05);Conclusion Azithromycin is shown to be of choice to manage children with mycoplasma pneumonia with good therapeutic profiles.
