Observation to the clinic effects of azithromycin in the treatment of mycoplasma pneumonia in children

Abstract

Objective To study the efficacy and safety of azithromycin in the treatment of mycoplasma pneumonia in children.Methods Fifty-eight cases of mycoplasma pneumonia were randomly divided into two groups:1.treatment group(azithromycin group)30 cases;2.control group(erythromycin group)28 cases.The treatment group was treated with azithromycine 10 mg·kg~(-1)·d~(-1) intravenous injection for 5~7 days and the control group was treated with erythromycin 25~30 mg·kg~(-1)·d~(-1) intravenous injection for 10~14 days.Results Remarkable efficient rates were 83.3%(25/30) and 35.7%(10/28) respectively in the treatment group and the control group.There was a significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).The total efficient rates were 100%(30/30)and 85.71%(24/28) in the two groups.The gastrointestinal reactions were 16.67% and 71.43%,which also indicated significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion Azithromycin is more effective and safer in the treatment of mycoplasma pneumonia in children than erythromycin.It deserves to be applied in the clinical treatment.
