Abstract

Objective To study the relationship between sperm acrosin hyaluronidase activity in the infertilitle men and conventional semen parameters in order to provide theoretical and experimental basis for diagnosis, treatment of clinical male infertile, and sperm function tests. MethodsEighty one semen sampleswere collected. Twenty cases were in normal control group, other cases were infertile men (excluding the infertility caused by women). Semen quality analysis: to make the conventional clinical examination of each semen specimen by using sperm quality analysis instrument and computer-assisted sperm analysis (CASA). Detecting the sperm hyaluronidase activity by using the method modified gelatin membrane. ResultsThere was a significant positive correlation between the positive response rate of the sperm hyaluronidase activity and sperm hyaluronidase positive intensity withsperm density, the rate of live sperm, sperm motility (a+b grade), the percentage of normal sperm. [r: 0.42 (0.31), 0.62 (0.49), 0.79 (0.75), 0.67 (0.42)]. As the sperm density and sperm motility (a+b grade) declined, Hyaluronidase activity wes decreased significantly. The hyaluronidase activity in control group was higher than that in infertility groups (P 0.01). The relationship between hyaluronidase activity and rate of live sperm, the percentage of normal sperm showed a significant difference. Conclusion The positive response rate of the sperm hyaluronidase and positive intensity correlated with sperm density, the rate of live sperm, sperm motility (a+b grade), the percentage of normal forms. For the sperm density, the rate of live sperm, sperm motility (a+ b grade) and the percentage of sperm morphology quality control group is superior to infertile group.
