Abstract

Objectives To investigate the clinical value of transurethral resection of prostate(TURP) in treating benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH).Methods 55 patients sufferd with BPH were treated by TURP.To evaluate the efficacy and complication after operation. Results All patients had been followed up for less than 6 months. The Qmax was higher after treatment, which was significantly beyond these of preoperative(P0.05).And after treatment the IPSS,RUV and QOL of patients were better than those of preoperative(P 0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions was verv low. Conclusions The TURP could be carried out as an safe and effective method in the treatment of BPH..
