Mycoplasmainfections of urogenital tract and analysis of drug resistance

OBJECTIVE To investigate the drug susceptibility and the culture of Mycoplasma causing urinary tract infections so as to provide directions for clinical reasonable use of antibiotics.METHODS The Mycoplasma cultivation,identification and susceptibility testing were performed for the sampled specimens from the urogenital tract by Mycoplasma IST2 kit.RESULTS Among 2441 cases of urogenital tract specimens sampled,there were 1223 strains of Mycoplasma isolated with the total positive rate of 50.1%,among which there were 765(31.3%) cases of single Ureaplasma urealyicum(Uu) infections,48(2.0%) cases of single Mycoplasma hominis(Mh) infections,and 410(16.8%) cases of mixed Uu+Mh infections.The drug susceptibility rates of Uu were relatively high to josamycin(94.2%),doxycycline(95.1%),and clarithromycin(92.6%),the drug susceptibility rates of Mh to doxycycline and josamycin were 93.7% and 91.0%,respectively,and the drug susceptibility rate of Uu+Mh causing the mixed infections was 89.7% to doxycycline,while the drug resistance rate was 90.1% to erythromycin.CONCLUSION It is important for the clinics to actively monitor etiology and drug resistance and to reasonably use antibiotics on the basis of drug susceptibility testing result.
