The expression and clinical utility of P504s in prostate cancer

Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression and diagnostic utility of P504s in prostatic lesions.Methods Expressions of P504s and p63 in benign and malignant prostatic lesions were observed by immunohistochemical staining.Results ① The P504s staining was positive in 91.4%(32/35) cases of prostate cancer and 87.0%(20/23) cases of high-grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia(HGPIN) in radical prostatectomy specimens,but negative in all of the benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH).85.7%(72/84) cases of prostate cancer in biopsy specimens were positive staining.In addition,the p63 staining was negative in prostate cancer and interruptedly or continuously positive in HGPIN,but positive in BPH.② The expressing of P504s was correlated to the tumor pathological grade,hormonal therapy and metastasis.Conclusion P504s is a specific biomarker for prostate cancer,and P504s/p63 immunostains are an important method for the diagnosis of prostate cancer.
