A comparative study of paroxetine combining with quetiapine in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder

Abstract

Objective To investigate the efficacy of paroxetine combining with quetiapine in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder(OCD).Methods A total of 50 patients with OCD were randomly treated with paroxetine only or paroxetine combining with quetiapine .The efficacy was measured with Yale-Brown obsessive compulsive scale(Y-BOCS),Hamilton anxiety scale(HAMA) and Hamilton depression scale (HAMD).Results There were significant differences between two groups in the reducing rate of Y-BOCS,HAMA and HAMD.Conclusion It is suggested that paroxetine combining with quetiapine could improve efficacy in the treatment of OCD.
