Abstract
Effect of different tempering temperatures on microstructure and properties of medium-carbon low-alloy wear resistant cast steel was studied. The results show that the microstructure of experimental alloys is major consisted of martensite and minor bainite and residual austenite after being quenched and tempered. The hardness and toughness decrease as the tempering temperature increased. The optimal comprehensive mechanical properties were obtained at the tempering temperature of 220 ℃.After grinding test for 400 h,the wear resistance of low-alloy was 56% higher than that of high manganese steel in dry grinding condition whereas 22.5% higher than that of high manganese steel in wet grinding condition.
