Abstract

Objective:To evaluate on application of the confirmatory test for positive samples with treponema pallidum antibody by ELISA screening,to improve the accuracy of detection of treponema pallidum. Methods:Detected treponema pallidum antibody in 7 112 patients by ELISA,then positive samples were confirmed by TPPA and WB methods. Results:The 110 cases positive samples were detected by ELISA,107 cases were confirmed positive by TPPA method, the falsepositive rate was 2.73%(3/110);106 cases were confirmed positive by WB method, the false-positive rate was 3.64%(4/110).The difference of detection false-positive rate between WB and TPPA was not statistically significant(χ2=0.56,P0.05).Conclusion:To improve the accuracy of detection of treponema pallidum, the positive samples with treponema pallidum are screened by ELISA,to combine with the clinical diagnosis and disease history,to confirm by TPPA,question results is confirmed further by WB method.
