Abstract
To study the influences of construction sequences and truck load arrangement ways on the continuous composite wide box girder bridge, the influences were analyzed by way of example of the north approach bridge of the Jiubao Bridge,Hangzhou that is now being constructed. The finite element program ANSYS was used to establish the plate shell and solid element models for the wide box girder of the bridge, the influences of concrete of the girder cast by different construction sequences(e.g.cast in situ in one time or cast in situ at the midspan first and at supports late span by span) on the global mechanical behavior of the structure and the global and local mechanical behavior of the structure when truck load was arranged in different ways(e.g.lane load+concentrated force or wheel load) in the structural calculation were analyzed in specific details. The results of the analysis show that the construction sequences of the concrete have great influence on the mechanical behavior of long span continuous composite wide box girder bridge. The truck load arrangement way of wheel load can better simulate the global and local mechanical behavior of the structure as compared to the arrangement way of lane load+concentrated force.
