Abstract

The analysis of mechanical behavior of wide box composite girder is difficult by beam-column theory, for the width of concrete deck is very large and the construction processes are complicate, furthermore the structure is not agree with plane cross-section assumption.Shell and solid model of wide box composite girder was developed by ANSYS finite element program.Simulation analysis of bridge behavior was performed from its construction state to complete state by adopting the techniques of loading increment step and element birth/death technology.Combining a five spans composite box-girder continuous bridge, the simulation analysis method is introduced in detail based on its construction sequences. The results show that this method can be used to calculate member stress and deformation in its full construction procedures efficiently, and it is an effective method to test the construction scheme of continuous composite bridge.
