Abstract
With reference to the continuous composite box girder of a Yangtze River Bridge, this paper presents the application of load step, element birth/death and submodel techniques to the analysis of mechanical characteristics of continuous composite girder bridge. The results of calculation indicate that this method can fulfill precise analysis of the mechanical behavior of bridge members during the construction process, and it is also suitable for the design and the selection of construction scheme of composite structure bridges.
