Abstract
Objective To investigate the significance of serum levels(TNF-α、IL-8) in patients with cerebral infarction(CI). Methods The serum levels of TNF-α and IL-8 were measured in 62 patients with (CI)and 48 healthy subjects by ELISA. The volume of CI were determined in 62 patients with CI.Results The serum levels of TNF-α and IL-8 in patients with CI were significantly higher compared to those in control group. The positive correlation between the serum levels(TNF-α、IL-8) and the volume of CI had been shown. Conclusion The serum level of TNF-αand IL-8 were significantly elevated in the patients with CI,which suggested that TNF-α and IL-8 may play an important role in the pathogenesis of CI.
