Abstract
Objective To study the levels of serum tumor necrosis factor-alpha(TNF-α),interleukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-8 (IL-8) and interleukin-18 (IL-18) and their clinical significance in patients with acute cerebral infarction. Method Levels of serum TNF-α,IL-6,IL-8 and IL-18 were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) in 107 patients with acute cerebral infarction, and 110 normal adults were served as control. Results The levels of serum TNF-α,IL-6,IL-8 and IL-18 were higher in ACI group than in controls (P0.05). The levels of TNF-α,IL -6,IL-8 and IL-18 gradually increased with the increase in severity of ACI (P0.05); and the score of clinical neurological deficit was positively correlated with the levels of TNF-α,IL-6,IL-8 and IL-18. Conclusions Serum TNF-α,IL-6,IL-8 and IL-18 levels were increased in patients with ACI,and were positively correlated with the score of clinical neurological deficit. It could be used for helping the judging of severity of ACI.
