Abstract

A method of high performance liquid chromatographg (HPLC)was developed to determine benzi- midazoles residues in beef liver. Benzimidazoles were extracted from tissues by ethyl acetate, purified by hexane and C 18 cartridge, separated by HPLC on an ODS column and measured by ultraviolet detector with the mobile phase of methanol-phosphate buffer. The average recovery was 78.8% with coefficient of variation of 2.18%. The detection limit was 8 μg/kg and the quantitation limit was 25 μg/kg.
