Abstract
Objective To examine the infection with human papillomavirus 16(HPV16)and 18(HPV18)in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and cervical carcinoma,to explore the relationship between HPV infection and cervical carcinoma and early cervical dysplasia.Methods All specimens were detected for HPV DNA using techniques of fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction(FQ-PCR).The pathological changes were graded based on CIN criteria.Results The positive rates of HPV16 and HPV 18 in 268 cases of cervical tissues were 44.78%(120/268)and 8.96%(24/268)respectively.The infection rate of HPV16 in CINⅠ,CINⅡ~Ⅲ and cervical squamous cell carcinoma tissues was significant higher than that of HPV18(P﹤0.05).Contrary to the infection of two subtypes of HPV,most cases were detected to be positive for a single subtype of HPV16 or HPV18(P﹤0.01).The more serious the cervical lesions were the higher grade of CINⅠ CINⅡ~Ⅲ and cervical squamous cell carcinoma detection were,the more higher the positive rate of HPV16 was(P﹤0.05).The infection rate of HPV18 was not signifiant different in cervical tissues with different severity of cervical lesions(P﹤0.05).Conclusions The development of cervical carcinoma and early cervical dysplasia may be associated with an increased risk of HPV16 infection.The qualitative detection of HPV16 may predict in cervical carcinoma.
