Pharmacoeconomic Analysis of Two Therapeutic Schemes of Levofloxacin in the Treatment of Genitourinary Infections

Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the pharmacoeconomic outcome of two therapeutic schemes of levofloxacin in the treatment of genicourinary infection.METHODS:A total of 84 patients with genitourinary infections were randomly divided into Group A and Group B:Group B was treated with Levofloxacin injection by iv gtt,while group A with sequential therapy of Levofloxacin injection followed by Levofloxacin tablets.The therapeutic effects were observed and the pharmacoeconomic analysis was conduced.RESULTS:There were no significant differences(P0.05) between the two groups in clinical efficacy,incidence rate of ADRs and germ-clearance rate(P0.05),but the treatment cost in Group B was higher than in group A(P0.05).CONCLUSION:Sequential therapy with levofloxacin injection followed by Levofloxacin tablets is the optimal scheme for genitourinary infections.
