Abstract
【Objective】To evaluate relationship between serum homocysteine(HCY) level and severity of coronary artery disease in patients of coronary heart disease.【Methods】 Peripheral blood was collected to test HCY,coronary artery disease was diagnosed according to Gensini score standards.Sixty patients were diagnosed as coronary heart disease(CHD) by coronary angiography,in which there were18 patients of stable angina pectoris(SAP group),22 cases of unstable angina pectoris(UAP group),20 cases of acute myocardial infarction(AMI group) and 20 healthy persons(NC group) as controls.【Results】Plasma HCY level of CHD patients was significantly higher than that of NC group(P 0.05);HCY levels of AMI,UAP,SAP groups were reduced in turn.Difference of pairwise comparison was statistically significant(P 0.05).HCY levels in CHD patients with coronary artery single-vessel disease,double-vessel disease and three lesions were increased in turn and the difference of pairwise comparison was statistically significant(P 0.05).HCY level and coronary artery disease were positively correlated(r =0.509,P 0.05).【Conclusion】 The plasma HCY levels has relationship with severity of coronary lesions and the number of lesions, suggesting HCY could serve as a basis for the diagnosis of coronary heart diseases.
