Abstract
As a kind of English for specific purpose (ESP), English for advertising differs from English for general purpose (EGP), which finds expression in the use of words, the structure of sentences and the device of rhetoric. This paper analyzes the characteristics of advertising English from the aspects of morphology, syntax and rhetorical devices based on many real examples of advertisement.
