Application of Transvaginal Ultrasound for Endometrial Polyps

Objective To improve the diagnostic accuracy of endometrial polyps by transvaginal ultrasound.Methods Seventy cases of endometrial polyps confirmed by pathology were analyzed retrospectively. Focus was put on detecting rate and misdiagnosis rate.Results Thirty-six cases of endometrial polyps were accurately diagnosed by transvaginal ultrasound,while six cases (8.6%)were misdiagnosed and twenty-eight cases(40%)were missed diagnosed.Conclusion The diagnostic accuracy of transvaginal ultrasound for endometrial polyps is obviously higher than that of transabdominal ultrasound.However,Transvaginal ultrasound combined with ultrasonic contrast imaging is of great potential to improve the diagnostic accuracy of endometrial polyps.
