Abstract

In literary translation,it is vital to reproduce or reflect the style of original work.As an outstanding translator,Liu Bingshan has done a lot of thinking on the issue of style in translating, which not only has benefited his own translating, but will also enlighten practices of some other translators in field of literary translation. The light he throws to literary translation practitioners is that they have to be concerned about the issue of style in translating, which stands as a fundamental theoretical issue. Also,a translator has to exhaust all resources to reach the heart of original work by befriending and empathizing with its creator beyond differences of time and space, which is the precondition to make the translated work work.Still,it is possible and even necessary to make peace between style of the writer of original work with its translator's style in the translated work, which signifies the independence and maturity of translated work in the target language.
