Abstract

Objective:To determine the efficacy of duloxetine combined with cognitive behavior therapy for treating the senile depression. Methods:50 patients with senile depression who met CCMD-Ⅲ criteria of major depression and depressed episode were randomly divided into study group(treated with duloxetine combined with cognitive behavior therapy) and control group (with duloxetine) for 8 weeks. The efficacy was assessed by Hamilton Depression Rating Scale(HAMD),and tolerability was assessed from Rating Scale For Adverse Effect(TESS).Results:The improvement rate of study group and control group were 78.57% and 60.71% respectively. The scores of HAMD in study group were better than in control group. Conclusions:Duloxetine combined with cognitive behavior therapy is better than single duloxetine in senile depression.
