Abstract
Objective:To compare the efficacy and safety of Duloxetine and Citalopram in the treatment of senile depression. Methods:66 patients with senile depression were randomly divided into Duloxetine group and Citalopram group for 6 week treatment. Hamilton depression scale (HAMD) and treatment emergent symptom scale (TESS) were used to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety, before treatment and 1, 2, 4,6week after treatment. Results: The score of HAMD reduced significantly after every treatment time in two groups (both P0.01). There were no significant differences in the efficacy and adverse events between the two groups. Conclusions: Duloxetine is an effective and safe antidepressant in the treatment of senile depression.
